Urnes stave church to be digitalized

Urnes stave church in Sogn og Fjordane of Norway is being laser scanned and digitalized this week. The church is the oldest surviving building of its kind and a bridge between the building traditions of the vikings and medieval Christian architecture.

The Spaceship Crew is especially happy to know that the breathtakingly beautiful intertwined snake and dragon imagery suggestive of Ragnarok - the Norse conception of the End of the World is to be preserved for the digital aeons to come.
